Prompt 2
Chapter 8 discusses the promotion of teacher leadership within our district and our schools. In your opinion, what are the school conditions that promote the emergence of teacher leaders?
Hi All, I was really interested in the conversation we had at Heather's home about the middle schools and high school having a separate report card for "behavior". I found an example of this on-line http://wp.lps.org/schoo/students/middle-school-report-card/. The more I talk to middle school teachers the more I realize how important this is to teachers and our students. Elementary teachers are doing this and would be a great source if this is something we want to do as a district. I feel strongly about being consistent...meaning if we have a behavior reporting system it should be the same for both middle schools and the high school. Check out the link I gave and let me know your thoughts.
I Found another interesting website http://pubs.cde.ca.gov/tcsii/ch1/grdstndrdbasdrptng.aspx that talks about possible ways to look at "behavior" and record it. The 2nd spotlight on this site is especially interesting.
This site mentions Marzano and Wormeli. I was able to take a workshop with Rick Wormeli a few years ago. He is amazing.
